The Harlequin of Hate: How to Play Joker in Mortal Kombat 11
Knowing which moves to use with Joker is important, but knowing when is crucial to maining Batman’s fiercest foe. Here are some tips from YouTuber MK_REO to get you started on your supervillain path:
- Universal launchers propel opponents into the air for follow-ups. Joker has two: His 1, 2, 1 string and the Bat projectile. This leads into Forward 1, 4 then back 4, 2.
- End kombos with the cane. If you amplify three back 4, 2 cane swings in one round you’ll trigger a krushing blow for massive damage. Physical to the other character and mental to your opponent.
- Mind games and mentality are key factors to supplement victory. You need a strong mindset in competitive settings, so why wouldn’t you want to throw off your opponent’s in true Joker fashion?
- The bat launcher leads into the 1, 2, 1 string. You can always go into 1, 2, 1 if you didn’t launch your opponent using it. Except for when you do Joker’s bat parry launcher in his Clown Prince variation. Instead do Forward, 1, 4 into back 4, 2. Be sure to amplify it for that extra oomph on the cane.
- Ace of Knaves gives you a trap that bounces players into the air, letting you use the same aforementioned strings.
- This variation also gives you a Jack in the Box that gives you enough time to start almost any combo if you can land it.
- The third variation lets you use fire traps for damage over time and a long range high attack called Kapow! at the cost of the cane Krushing Blow.
