It’s time to Test Your Might, kombatants!

To celebrate the release of the Mortal Kombat 1: Definitive Edition, Warner Bros. Games and PlayStation Tournaments have teamed up to offer something special for fans.

The Mortal Kombat 1: Definitive Edition offers the most extensive version of Mortal Kombat 1, including the main game packaged together with previously released downloadable content (DLC), along with new character skins (outfits) for Johnny Cage, Kitana, Scorpion, and Shao Khan inspired by New Line Cinema’s upcoming Mortal Kombat II film; the Mortal Kombat (2021) movie character skin (outfit) for Sub-Zero; and the tournament themed character skin (outfit) for Liu Kang.  

Starting May 15 and running until May 22, the Mortal Kombat 1: Definitive Edition Challenge on PlayStation Tournaments invites players to rank up their favorite fighters in a quest for Flawless Victories and win limited-time prizes along the way.

All players who enter and kompete in the Mortal Kombat 1: Definitive Edition Challenge on PS5 will receive an exclusive Tournament Liu Kang avatar, based on the new character skin (outfit). Additionally, players who place first by mastering their kombos and finishing off their opponents in style will win 500 Dragon Krystals to unlock special in-game items.*

How to play on PS5

To sign up on PS5, launch Mortal Kombat 1 and select the PlayStation Tournaments button. Select a tournament that fits your schedule and select Register. A notification will appear when it is time to join your match. Results are automatically recorded, and winning matches will secure your place in the next round until you reach the final. Tournament details, including available prizes, will be listed on the tournament card. You can also sign up by navigating to the Game Hub on your PS5 home screen and scrolling down to the “Upcoming Tournaments” carousel.
