Street Fighter V: Champion Edition is a traditional 2D fighter, but what sets the legendary franchise apart from other popular series in the genre? Enter EX Moves, V-Triggers, Critical Arts, and the Stun Gauge. Learn how to play and master these core mechanics to improve your performance.
How to Perform EX Moves, Specials, and Combos?
Go from jargon to jubilation! Round off the basics with combos, special moves, and EX Moves!
What are V-Triggers?
The V-Gauge is the meter labeled V-Trigger. Players build meter when blocking, taking damage, and using V-Skills. Once full, players can activate V-Triggers, character specific special moves that buff abilities or shift the momentum of battle. Every character has two V-Triggers, while some V-Triggers are 2-bar as opposed to 3-bar.
What are Critical Arts?
Critical Arts are Street Fighter’s version of super moves. Similar to Ultra moves from Street Fighter IV, these cinematic powerful moves deal large chunks of damage. Cool to use, but painful to endure, Critical Arts feature infamous attacks like Akuma’s Shun Goku Atsu.
What is the Stun Gauge?
The Stun Gauge is underneath your health bar. Hit opponents to fill the gauge. At max they’ll be stunned and unable to move. Now’s your chance to perform a powerful combo and a taunt for good measure if that’s your style!
