The Best Attachments in Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold War

Published on: 03/23/2021
By: Jon Silman

Attachments don’t just make your favorite Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War guns better, they customize stats to best suit your playstyle. Hate appearing on the mini-map, then add a silencer. If you’re struggling to land your shots, throw on a muzzle to reduce recoil. There are even options to increase movement speed for players that want to sprint around the map, while simultaneously making up for weapon weaknesses.

Discover some of the best attachments in COD to improve your KD (kill-death ratio) and SPM (score per minute).

Sillix Holoscout

The Sillix Holoscout is slightly more zoomed in than the Millstop Reflex, which is also top-notch. With its holographic style and high magnification, this optic will increase accuracy, visibility, and range, making you better in more lines of sight. It also has a sweet assortment of custom reticles to unlock.

Suppressor

Silencer

When you want to be silent and stealthy, the concealment of a muzzle flash is extremely helpful. Choose the regular suppressor over the Agency Suppressor because that one dings range more. Some of the best players prefer extra power and mobility over concealment, but if you’re undecided equip the Gunfighter Wildcard for extra attachment slots.

Foregrip

“Foregrip"

The Foregrip might seem less essential for players that never miss, however the reduced horizontal recoil and improved accuracy makes it easier to connect those headshots. Horizontal recoil is also the hardest type to manage. Equip the Foregrip to spend more time focusing on the objective and less on landing shots. Unlike most attachments, there are no cons to using one.

Dropshot Wrap

Dropshot Wrap

The Dropshot Wrap changes the game, literally. The ability to go prone while firing is exclusive to this attachment. It’s still possible to dropshot without the attachment, although it will be less effective since you’ll momentarily stop firing to go prone. Master the technique to win more gunfights against multiple opponents. There's also no stat nerfs or detriments from using the wrap.

Wire Stock

Wire Stock

The Wire stock improves sprint to fire time and is especially effective for players that love to run and gun. It is more useful against skilled opponents when split seconds make the difference between kills and deaths. If you tend to play a slower style of COD by sticking to a few positions without a lot of sprints, then this isn’t the best attachment for you.

40 Round Mags

40 Round Mags

This is the go-to attachment when you want to up your bullet stock and take out groups of enemies with less concern over reloads in modes like Hardpoint. You even start with more ammo. There is a reload speed ding, so if you’re more worried about quickness over capacity, go with the Jungle-Style Mag.

Underrated attachment: Flashlight

The flashlight is not going to be on everyone’s mind when it comes to a well-balanced loadout, but it has some amazing properties.

This could very well be the best attachment in the game for the sole reason that it increases visibility a ridiculous amount with zero drawbacks.

In the map Cartel, the flashlight can cut through the bushes, allowing you to see enemies you couldn’t before. In Satellite, it comes in handy for spotting enemies hiding behind dunes. It doesn’t even really matter which flashlight you decide to go with either because they all work exceptionally well.

You can also hipfire scan enemies that are 50 meters away. Don’t worry about the light alerting enemies since it doesn’t really show up.
