Figuring out players, points, and packs in FIFA 21 Ultimate Team isn’t easy, so let’s juke past the difficulties and explain everything you need to know to begin your FUT empire.
What is FIFA Ultimate Team?
FUT is the most popular mode in the FIFA franchise. Create and manage your own soccer club. Train players, earn rewards, and collect cards (items, players, and staff).
You’ll net better rewards the more you win with your team. Purchase random packs in hopes of recruiting the best players, trade to improve your roster, and equip items to strengthen your lineup.
How to Get Started in FUT
The journey to creating a dream team begins with a country. Pick either your favorite or one known for success. You’ll receive 22 players from that region.
Next comes the loan player, a temporary star that only joins your roster for a limited number of games. After that, select jerseys and then a team crest. Whether you’re indecisive or like to swap out fresh styles, these can always be changed later. Now you’re ready to organize your squad.
The easiest way to staff your team is to pick the best players in your initial 11. Remember to place players in preferred positions for better chemistry (more on that below). Higher numbers almost always mean a better team, making it easy to strive for improvement.
Note the early objectives (complete these as soon as you can to improve your team) and complete your first game. From there you’ll be asked to buy a player and let him play in the following match. The in-game instructions do a great job guiding you through the process.
Tutorial complete! You’re ready to play online and offline to earn more coins. There’s even an app to make sure you don’t miss anything when it comes to managing your team. Let’s continue with the most important part of FIFA Ultimate Team.
What are FUT Cards
FUT cards are the main way to improve your team. Different cards contain staff members, players, club items, managers, and consumables like healing, player contracts, and manager’s leagues.
How to get FUT Cards
You get cards as rewards for playing but can also buy and trade them in the Transfer Market. Most cards will come from FUT packs. All purchases can be made with FIFA coins or points. Save up for limited-time offerings like Team of the Year (TOTY) and other special seasonal packs.
How to get Coins
Gaining coins is as simple as playing the game. Complete challenges, FUT matches, and sell cards for more currency. Just be careful you don’t trade something you’ll regret. Players looking to quickly build a roster can purchase points from the EA Store.
What is Chemistry
See those red, yellow, and green lines between the players? Those are chemistry lines. Chemistry reflects player compatibility in relation to team formation, teammates, and preferred position.
Why is Chemistry Important
You’ll want to maximize chemistry to get the best performance out of every single player regardless of their stats.
Put players in preferred positions with people from the same club or league to produce better chemistry. Players with the same nationality also have better chemistry. Green is the highest level, while red is the lowest. Players and teams with better chemistry get boosted status effects at the start of a game.
Don’t fret if your team lacks chemistry. It is highly recommended, but that doesn’t mean you’re at a severe disadvantage and cannot win.

Follow these instructions and you’ll be ready to play in the Open Series for more prizes in no time.
