Rapid Fire Tournament Tips

Check-in notifications: Opt-in to receive a heads up prior to the tournament’s start time.
Wait times: These tournaments feature a lot of participants, so the time between matches might be inconsistent.
Loadout limitations: You can only use legal Call of Duty League loadouts. GameBattles loadouts are separate from traditional classes created in other modes, meaning you’ll have to create a new one in the GameBattles lobby.

What is Search and Destroy?

The classic objective mode hasn’t changed since the original Modern Warfare. There are no respawns. Plant the bomb or wipe the enemy team to win on offense. The defense wins if they kill the entire enemy team, defuse the bomb, or run out the clock.

General Search and Destroy Strategies

Coordination and communication are key. Play without teamwork and you’ll be at a severe disadvantage against clever opponents. SalvationsElite, a Call of Duty content creator, dove into Search specific tactics for all skill levels.

Callouts: Tell your team enemy locations and actions. Use the extra information to outsmart any opponent.
Playing the cross: Station one player in a position where they can see which bomb site the enemy is approaching.
Stacking: This is when you send most of your team to one bomb site. Stacking doesn't really apply in 2v2 matches, but you can focus your attention on one site. Send your partner directly to one objective and find a position with a good vantage point to maintain long lines of sight overlooking paths from A to B.
Plant and defuse time: Base your approach toward the bomb on the amount of time left. Consider longer, safer routes when there's more time. Dash straight toward the site when you have less.
Lethal Grenades: Throw nades early in the match to either nab an early kill or slow down the enemy’s route. Try different tosses and timing to master more options.
Smoke Grenades: Block the other team's vision so you can sneak around the map. You can even divert attention to the wrong objective.
Dead Silence: Sound is a dead giveaway when it comes to position. This is probably the most useful Field Upgrade because you can quietly flank with less risk.
Bomb plants: Plant in a position that will give your team a better vantage point when defending because the other team must defuse from that specific spot on the objective.
