What are Assists?
It’s dangerous to go alone! Use assists to continue combos with your partner or chip damage in neutral. Every character has three unique assists depending on the input: Back, Neutral, and Forward. Mid combo assists use one of the horizontal blue Cross Gauge found on the bottom of the screen. However, using assists from far away or in neutral doesn’t deplete the gauge.
Attempting to use an assist mid combo when your gauge is empty results in nothing happening. Assists are also impossible if your partner was knocked out.
What is Tagging?
Tagging, as the name implies, is when you switch fighters to your partner. Be careful of tagging at the wrong time! Switching characters briefly leaves you susceptible to counter attacks. Red health is recovered while tagged. Naturally, you cannot tag if your partner is down for the count.
What is Active Switching?
Active Switching is when you switch mid assist to your second character. Switching mid-combo uses Cross Gauge and deepens combo opportunities. In other situations, you can Active Switch without using any meter.
What is Delay Entry?
Prior to version 2.0, characters would enter the battle after death with consistent timing, giving the opponent an unfair opportunity to kick players when they were down. Now players can delay when their second character will join the fight. Hold the button to mix up their timing and cross over into the victory screen.
