How to Play Reinforce: Rules and Basics
Reinforce is a 4v4 team-based skirmish reminiscent of Domination and Search & Destroy. There are three flags, or objectives, throughout the map. Players have one life and only respawn when their teammates capture an objective. Teams can either eliminate the opposing players or capture all three flags to win. The first team to win four rounds wins the match.
Teams spawn on opposite ends of the map at either the A or C flag. Spawns flip every few rounds. The B flag is always in a central position.
Players must stand close to the flag until a meter fills up to capture the objective. The more teammates on the objective, the faster the capture. Contested flags, or flags with players from both teams, cannot be captured until one team is killed.
Clever Captures: Reinforce Strategies and Tips
Capturing objectives is more than just a race. You can beat the enemy team to B, but maybe they took multiple routes to the flag. The capture meter could be almost full when enemies appear from different directions and wipe out your teammates huddled over the objective.
Determining which objective to capture and when is crucial to keeping your squad on the field and in control.
Domination instincts might tell Call of Duty veterans to immediately capture the objective next to their spawn and gain as many points as possible. However, points are not gained over time. Teams either win or lose.
Instead, fill the meter on the objective next to your spawn until only a sliver is left. This gives your team the opportunity to easily respawn, if necessary. Determine the best route to return based on the position of your teammates and where players perish.
Whichever team holds the most objectives when time runs out wins regardless of player count, so go on the offensive toward B. You can even send one player to the outskirts of the map to capture the enemy’s objective. Chances are most of the team will be elsewhere.
Controlling Objectives: A Cat and Mouse Game
Spread out to oversee popular junctions and chokepoints as your team progresses across the map. Take note of player paths and player count. Getting blindsided is never fun.
Claymores, C4s, semtex, frag grenades, and smoke grenades are all popular for both capturing and defending objectives. Domination tactics carry over, although some players utilize safer strategies and move slower due to limited lives.
Experiment with different equipment, perks, and field upgrades. Lower kill counts make smaller kill streaks more effective. Weapons should always be based on player preference.
Excessive or obvious defensive play is detrimental. Capitalize on caution to pressure players into the afterlife.
The untraditional respawn system introduces a cat and mouse twist. Knowing when to play the part of the cat and aggressively tackle an objective, or the part of the mouse and strategically retreat is key. The more you play, the more you’ll survive capturing objectives and hunting down captors. Successful soldiers strike a balance between playing the cat and the mouse.
Campers and the Final Objective
Beware of campers! The emphasis on map control makes many players comfortable parking at one objective for the entire round. If your team has two objectives, there is usually no need to push for the third. You’re in an advantageous position.
Pushing the final objective can give your opponents the advantage because they’ll likely be waiting with claymores and other traps. As soon as you touch their objective they’ll be notified and ready to counter-attack with grenades and guns.
Whether a player prefers to get more kills or wants to win traditionally, there are ample reasons to push. You should definitely go for the final objective if you outnumber your foes. Branch off and enter the area from different positions for additional vantage points.
Use the time to your advantage and be as careful and methodical as you’d like. Cornered foes will have no choice but to make a move when the clock nears zero. The only way they can win is if they sprint to another objective or rush to wipe out your team. Play smart and don't serve your enemy victory in a silver reticle.
Reinforce the Essentials
In traditional Call of Duty fashion, vary your plan and movement from round to round. Note what works well against enemies, study their habits, and learn their class setups. Predictability is a short cut to defeat, while anticipation leads to victory!
