How to Play and Win Kill Confirmed - Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Guide

Published on: 12/01/2020
By: Jon Silman

Kill Confirmed is a popular spin on the classic team deathmatch multiplayer mode in Call of Duty: Balck Ops Cold War. The fast-paced, hectic gameplay requires coordination, but it is possible to win solo with these tips and tricks.

How Kill Confirmed Works

Two teams of up to 6 players aim to wipe each other out and safely grab dog tags from fallen foes. Unlike TDM, eliminations don’t count for points. Instead, every enemy dog tag is worth one. Collect dog tags whenever your teammates die to prevent the enemy from scoring.

Matches last 10 minutes. First to 65 wins.

How to win at Kill Confirmed

Let sleeping dog tags lie. Use enemy dog tags as bait since you know an enemy will come and try to claim it. A dog tag is a good time to ambush an enemy player.

Coordinate with teammates. Even if you're not talking to anyone on your team, pay attention to their positions for a better idea of where the enemy is spawning, aiming, and going. Moving in tandem with teammates will help you flank foes for easier kills.

Ping. Press left on the D-pad to ping objects in front of you. Pinging alerts your team with text, visual, and audio cues, so you'll get everyone's attention even if you're not talking to them. Use it when you spot clusters of enemies or mines to deter allies heading to their doom.

Trap ‘em. Leave proximity mines, C4, and gas mines near tags to blow up, distract, or slow down enemies. Even if you don’t eliminate them, you’ll know their location.

Keep a tight circle. Reckless aggression is an easy way to get shot down. Go after tags that are nearby, but don’t go out of your way to look for them. The further out you go, the more likely you’ll run into enemy fire and other traps.

In the wild. Conversely, if you see a tag out in the open, wait. Someone is going to come for it, and if you have a clear line of sight, all the better.
Don’t prioritize kills. The objective of this game is to get tags, so look for them on the mini-map. Other players will die, of course, but if you go after tags and not kills you’ll be in better shape for a win.

Don’t leave blue tags. Part of a winning strategy is to collect teammate's tags before the enemy does. Doing so will help you toward scorestreaks.

Class, perks, equipment. The weapons you're most comfortable with are typically the best choice. If you prefer to sit back with a sniper rifle, then do just that or if you’re more of an SMG run and gun player, you know what to do. The same goes for any equipment, perks, and wild cards. Go crazy packing extra equipment, attachments, or anything else that’s essential to your most efficient kit.

Slide. A simple tip, but one that will save you time after time. Slide when sprinting to get tags and avoid getting shot.
