Multi-Team: Sat-Link launched with Black Ops Cold War Season 4. The new Fireteam mode pits ten squads of four against each other in a Domination-style setting. Teams must control Sat-Links to gain points.
Let’s walk through some tips and tricks to turn you into the best teammate whether your squad is filled with beginners or prestige rank pros.
How to play Multi-Team: Sat-Link tips and FAQ
How to score more points per minute?
There are up to six Sat-Link objectives for teams to capture depending on the map. There are two ways to win: Reach 500 points or score the most after the 15-minute time limit expires.
Lockdown Sat-Links to earn points. Every Sat-Link has a small circle similar to Domination objectives that appear up-close. Players must enter this capture zone to claim or defend the Sat-Link. Each position nets players a steady stream of score over time.
More teammates within the circle means faster captures. A few seconds can make a big difference in tight games. Grab multiple Sat-Links to build a lead or come back, especially when there’s little time on the clock. Enemy objectives take longer to capture for two reasons. First, they must be decapped. Second, there’s a good chance the other team will want to keep their turf.
When to use Signal Boosters?
Signal boosters are Multi-Team: Sat-Link exclusive items. Deposit these batteries into objectives to increase your team’s score at a much faster rate. Only your team benefits from the Sat-Link booster, meaning it’ll expire whenever the other team takes your objective. If your team has a strong lock on the position, you probably should use the booster. Think twice before using one alone at a Sat-Link unless you really need the points.
If you simply capture one Sat-Link and hold it for the entire game without the help of signal boosters, chances are another team is going to fly past your score.
Which objective should we target?
Check the map and score to decide which team to target. If someone is building a strong lead, snatch one of their objectives to make sure comebacks are possible through tactics like the infamous third party. Drop into an area where two teams are fighting, then wipe out any survivors before they can recover for easier Sat-Links.
Should I respawn or wait for the revive?
Players enter a downed state at zero health like in Call of Duty: Warzone. Downed players can either wait for a revive via an ally, give up to respawn quicker, or wait until they bleed out. Situational awareness dictates how you should handle it. Often you should give up to quickly aid teammates, while other times waiting for a revive works best in extended firefights.
Should I drop from the sky or spawn on teammates?
The respawn system mixes Call of Duty’s bigger game mode rules. Players can drop from the sky similar to Warzone and other Fireteam operations or spawn next to a teammate on the ground. Don’t always mash to get back into the action. Gauge the situation with your squad for a better strategy and remember you can’t spawn when your ally is in combat. Sometimes the best tactic is to split up. Otherwise, you’ll never capture and defend multiple objectives.
Multi-Team: Sat Link maps
Multi-Team Sat Link is playable on five Fireteam maps, all located in the Ural Mountains.
- Alpine: A Soviet patrol installation in the Ural Mountains.
- Duga: A Soviet radar array used for early warning missile defense.
- Golova: A Russian village in the Ural Plains.
- Ruka: A clandestine Spetsnaz GRU training facility.
- Sanatorium: An experimental Soviet health retreat.
Should I stick to my favorite section of the map?
Every map features a mix of more than enough close quarters, open fields, and cover for forty players to find strategic positions. That also means you can focus on Sat-Links in your favorite section of the map. However, don’t hesitate to leave. Teams limiting themselves to parts of the map are at a massive disadvantage due to less accessible objectives.
Multi-Team: Sat-Link gameplay tactics
Capture a Sat-Link quickly
As soon as your team jumps from the plane, rush a Sat-Link. You start with a loadout, so there is no need to loot. Capture the objective as fast as you can and wait for the loot to come to you. Kill any enemies and replenish your arsenal with equipment, ammo, and maybe even something special.
Loot is valuable
Looting in Multi-Team: Sat-Link is similar to Warzone. There are useful items crates scattered across the map. You can come across Scorestreaks, ammunition, and signal boosters. Spread out and become a loot goblin after gaining control over your first Sat-Link.
Teamwork makes a difference
Teamwork doesn’t necessarily mean sticking together the whole time. There are different situations in Multi-Team: Sat-Link that call for different strategies. Rushing a Sat-Link, keeping control of one, splitting up to take another, and picking off stray opposition are all possible with proper teamwork. If you have a team that isn’t communicating, all hope is more than likely lost.
Finish your kills
Squad wipes are the best way to succeed in this new Black Ops Cold War game mode. Downing an enemy isn’t the end of their life. You should always look to finish them off.
Throw a grenade, keep shooting, or perform a finisher if you’re feeling a little risky, but flashy. Force respawns and keep their squad at a disadvantage for as long as possible.
