Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War's Zombies mode is rife with plenty of secrets to uncover thanks to Easter eggs sprinkled throughout each new area. With the addition of Die Maschine, the mode has upped its game tremendously, via a multi-part path to experience Die Maschine's Easter egg. If you're struggling to figure out what to do to get started, worry not.
Here’s how you can both turn on the power and unlock the Pack-A-Punch machine. From there, you can freely explore the map and everything it has to offer. Just make sure you stay alive in the meantime because a dead zombie slayer has little chance of surviving against the undead.
How to turn on the power in Die Maschine
Before you're well on your way to completing a laundry list of tasks and eventually unlocking Die Maschine's secrets, you've got to start at the very beginning. That means turning on the power at the building where you start the level. First, clear out the zombies in your immediate vicinity so they don't shamble up to you while you're trying to get things done. Then it’s time to head forward and look around.
Look for a crafting table that you can find leaning against the wall of a building near you. There's also a green table you can just make out to the right of it. Open the door by spending 500 points. Once inside, be sure to keep the zombies at bay, and then look for a set of stairs to take you to the second floor. Spend 750 points here to clear the massive pile of debris to go forward, and scale the staircase.
Follow the bright-colored arrows on the stairs and wall toward the Bedroom area. Clear the doorway of debris for 1,000 points to keep moving. You should have amassed plenty of points from slaying zombies by now. Make your way to the larger Crash Site area. Once in the Crash Site, continue moving forward and watch your back for zombie creeps.
You should see the Jugger-Nog Perk Machine as well as an area with a red "X." This will take you to a tunnel that you can clear and unlock for 1,250 points. Do so and move into the tunnel. Going inside and turning left will bring you to the Facility.
Once you're in the facility, you're near your goal. Keep heading straight through the path until you see doors located in the Control Room area. Look at the door on the left. It costs 1,500 points to unlock, so if you can afford the points, go ahead and do so. Be sure to save up another 1,500 points, because when you go inside, you'll need to find the Particle Accelerator door too. That will cost you 1,500 points to open.
Go inside the Particle Accelerator room. There's a power button that needs to be tripped. Save up 1,750 points to unlock the door here, and then press the button. You'll now turn the power on.
How to unlock the Pack-A-Punch in Die Maschine
Once you have the power on and are ready to go, you need to unlock the Pack-A-Punch machine next. Luckily, it's not that far. Turn around from where you turned the power on and find the two areas on your map marked in the Particle Accelerator area. This will lead you to a set of terminals that need to be activated. Be sure to turn both of them on.
You'll see something appear in the middle of the room. It's a purplish beam of energy known as an Anomaly. Go downstairs and step into the Anomaly, and you'll be transported instantly to the Dark Aether, an alternate dimension where you'll have a bit of work you need to do.
Examine the Crash Site and head toward the waypoint that pops up there. Clear out some junk blocking the tunnel exit for 1,250 points, and then look for the Aether Tunnel waypoint. You need to move quickly, as you can't spend an unlimited amount of time here.
Head over to the Aether Tunnel and spend 500 points to unlock it. This will transport you to a new room, where you'll find a Machine Part. Grab the Machine Part and return through the portal the way you came. Get out of the Dark Aether and return to the real world. The Pack-A-Punch machine will now be available to you. With the Pack-A-Punch machine unlocked, you now have the ability to tackle the rest of the Easter egg missions Die Maschine has to offer.
