Soul Points and gold in SoulCalibur VI are crucial to making your original characters as powerful and pretty as possible. Soul Points (SP) are more valuable because they unlock museum bonuses and allow players to purchase cosmetic items in Creation mode (referred to as Create a Soul in previous games). Museum unlocks are limited, but Soul Points are highly sought after to design your own custom character with incredible detail. Gold is used in Mission: Libra of Soul mode and is necessary to purchase weapons and items that affect your custom character’s stats.
It’s important to note that Creation mode characters and Libra of Souls created characters are different. Character Creation allows you to use custom characters in Arcade and Ranked matches, while the created characters in Libra of Souls follow a different Mission journey.
Let’s take a look at how to gain Soul Points and gold most efficiently, and how you can trade one for the other in the quest for the most “creative” SoulCalibur build.
How to earn Soul Points
SP is shared across modes and is associated with your online ID, so earning points in one area of the game will help you accumulate throughout. Here are a few ways you can gain SP, along with the amount you’ll earn.
50/100/150/200 SP | A good way to start earning Soul Points is by successfully completing Arcade mode. How quickly you complete the mode along with difficulty settings factor into how many points you gain. Beat Arcade mode with each character to multiply your winnings, or on Legendary difficulty for a whopping 300 points. |
50 SP | A quick way to get Soul Points is to win online ranked matches. The perfect reason to get out of arcade mode and test your skills. (Don’t confuse rank points with Soul Points!) |
200 SP | Gain additional points by completing individual character stories |
2000 SP | Successfully complete “Story: Soul Chronicle'' mode once to win 2000 SP. The downfall is that this is awarded only once. |

Acquiring gold and exchanging for Soul Points
Mission: Libra of Soul is like an RPG built into SoulCalibur, taking up a good portion of the game. Creating a character is essential. Like any good RPG, you have tons of options to choose from.
Once in Libra of Soul mode, your character uses gold to travel and buy items. Players primarily use gold to increase character stats, but it’s also important to monitor your travel costs. The farther you are from an expedition, the more gold you have to spend to get there.
The quickest way to earn gold is to complete side quests, especially Green Medal quests that net a lot of currency. You can also win gold in battles. Purchase items and food that grant gold multipliers after Chapter 4 to amplify earnings.
Probably the most coveted aspect of gold in SoulCalibur is its trade value with Soul Points. Once you reach Chapter Two, you enter the town of Dhaka where the world map opens up with quests, and your ability to trade begins. If you’re looking for more SP, remember that 5,000 gold is worth 100 SP in the Currency Exchange market. It may not seem like much, but it’s possible to grind a lot of battles and quests in a fairly short amount of time.
