Season 4 of Tekken 7 features a slew of balance changes and updates including new moves for every character, better online net code, and updates to the rank system. Here's what to expect when version 4.00 goes live on November 10.
Kunimitsu, Vermilion Gates, DLC 18 + 19
The kodachi wielding ninja Kunimitsu makes her Tekken 7 debut alongside the beautiful Vermilion Gates stage. DLC 18 and 19 will also include a new character and stage, but Bandai Namco has yet to release the details.
Bonus Content: Pac-Man Fever
Pac-Man might not be playable, but his aesthetic is available to celebrate the icon's 40th anniversary. Don Pac-Man themed character customizations like t-shirts or one of the four ghosts. Bandai Namco said certain characters will not be able to use the customizations. Even if you can't wear Pac-Man fashion, you can still duke it out in a limited time Pac-Man arena stage.
Character Battle Adjustments
Season Pass 4 shifts the Tekken 7 meta with major balance changes. Every character has new moves and updates. That means damage, frame data, and startup might make your favorite character feel less than desirable. Discover all of the details to learn who were the biggest winners and losers from the patch.
Don't forget to export your favorite recordings! Recorded battles from previous versions of the game can't be used post update.
Tekken Prowess
Tekken Prowess is a new indicator of a player's total skill and strength in the game. A player's ID color online will change depending on prowess level. The new metric is also visible on leaderboards and in player information.
Changes to Online Rankings: Tekken God Omega
Bandai Namco introduced a new rank to the top of the leaderboards called "Tekken God Omega." With the new title comes additional ladder restructuring. A player's position will only update when their highest rank changes. Moving up and down will feel different after "True Tekken God" thanks to revisions in the point system.
Expect your rank to drop if you're at the top of the ladder because of Tekken Prowess and the rank adjustments. The best players have nothing to fear since they'll simply climb back up. Those struggling to maintain high ranks might face more difficulty due to new Losing Streak Countdowns. Lose 3 matches in a row at "Tekken God Prime" or higher to drop more points than usual.
Changes to Online Play
Bandai Namco recommends a wired connection to reduce lag during matches. However, wifi warriors can rest easy knowing the 4.00 update has improved rollback netcode and gives you the heads up if your opponent's connection isn't the best.
Miscellaneous Changes
Season 4 wraps up with UI updates. Health bars are overhauled and the background music for the Arena stage is fresh.
In Treasure Battle, the appearance rate of character items is higher, and new illustrations are avaliable for viewing in the Gallery.
