Take control of the ultimate technique, Ultra Instinct. This transformation separates the consciousness from the body. Goku masters this ability to gain the power of the gods.
Ultra Instinct Goku’s unique mechanics like “the walk” make him fun and ferocious. Counter the competition to come out on top.
What is the Walk?
Rooflemonger walks the walk with Ultra Instinct Goku. Walk forward without pressing any buttons to go through every basic Ki Blast, except Jiren’s and UI Goku’s. Walking backward, jumping, or stopping will take the hit.
The fighting game content creator also examines a few special cases like Piccolo’s slow homing attack. The projectiles follow you for a while, so they only way to walk through them is to keep walking until the attack vanishes. However, it’s highly likely your opponent will hit you well before then.
Block true beams like Gogeta’s blast since you can't walk through them. Any physical hits attached to Ki Blasts such as Nappa’s will land, but you can still walk through the projectile part.
RathFGC’s UI Goku Tutorial
Don’t be fooled by the name. YouTuber Rath FGC runs through the unique, counter heavy character. He can counter into a level one super or teleport behind foes to close the gap. It’s possible to followup, but only if the opponent is still recovering from their Ki Blast. Teleport when the opponent calls an assist and you might hit both characters for a happy birthday.
Both his auto combo and one of his specials switch sides with the opponent. The special is also a command grab. Mixup hops and flips to cross up foes, then go for the command grab to capitalize on combos in the corner. Many of his moves look similar and feature feints, which work to your advantage.
Ultra Instinct Goku’s level two super is a downward aerial beam from behind the opponent. Goku then charges forward for the finishing blow to deal more damage.
Quarter circle forward + L frame traps. Use it and call in an assist. If the opponent blocks then you can start your offensive thanks to the stun. If your initial attack lands then your assist won’t come out, saving it.
There might be a new menace in the meta thanks to UI Goku’s versatility and cross up potential. Chances are different pros will adapt different playstyles based on personal preference and team composition.

How to Use Ultra Instinct Goku’s Assist?
Rooflemonger calls UI Goku, “a grappler’s best friend.” He uses assist A to mitigate openings in Broly’s assault. No more homing dashes to dodge grabs or vanishing to escape on the other side because UI Goku covers it all. There’s also a lot of hit stun, so whiffing command grabs can still lead to combos. This assist also works with other command grabs.
Fortunately, it isn’t entirely one-sided. Players can jump or back dash to dodge this setup. Jumps work, but aren’t as safe since it’ll still be the other player’s turn. Invincible reversals are another option, along with specific character actions and supers. Test your team's tools.
