Apex Legends Arenas improves the performance of many Legends that go untouched in the Battle Royale mode.
Some abilities, like Tracker, become far more useful when you go from the vast spaces of World’s Edge, Olympus, or King’s Canyon to smaller Arenas maps because you’re almost always guaranteed to reveal the majority of the playing field. Others that feature explosives no longer pose any risk of drawing third parties. This Legends mix-up introduces even more variety to an already free-form game.
The five best Legends in Apex Legends Arenas are some you might expect and others that have found a new home for themselves in the meta.
#5 - Mirage
Mirage falls into the lowest tier of useful Battle Royale Legends. But in Apex Legends Arenas, the bamboozling playboy is in the spotlight. His set of abilities comes in handy thanks to tighter spaces.
Psyche Out can send a decoy forward, then trick your opponents into thinking you rushed in, potentially alone. Once they open fire, you’ll know their exact location.
Now You See Me allows Mirage to go invisible when reviving a teammate, which is vital for keeping the numbers advantage in this 3v3 mode.
#4 - Caustic
Caustic can control the Arenas maps in a variety of ways. He can flush enemies out of a room, push foes, or lock down a specific area for his team. The smaller maps of Apex Legends Arenas make him invaluable in most matches compared to more situational on the large open landscape of the Battle Royale mode.
His Nox Gas Trap places a canister that releases deadly gas when shot or tripped by an opponent. This is perfect for blocking pathways or preventing revives. Caustic’s Nox Gas Grenade Ultimate does the same with much greater coverage. It also doesn’t need to be triggered. Top him off with Nox Vision and he can see through the gas with no impairment unlike his enemies who will have their vision blurred.
#3 - Octane
Octane remains one of the top Legends in all of Apex Legends. This high-speed demon is the perfect choice for players joining an Arenas game on their own. His offensive capabilities are enough to counteract any lack of team communication.
Octane can use his Stim to increase sprint speed by 40% for six seconds. It takes away health, but that is fixed by his Passive Swift Mend (restores health over time). Finally, Octane has his Launch Pad Ultimate that will catapult anyone quite a distance. He even has the option to double jump. All of this allows for quick pushes and flanks to catch the opposing team off guard or rapid escapes to prolong a round.
#2 - Fuse
The giant Battle Royale maps make Fuse’s abilities easy to avoid. The closer boundaries of the Arenas maps take this explosive’s expert from an offensive Legend to a controlling Legend like Caustic.
While his abilities can deal solid damage, using them for map control is more effective. Knuckle Custer launches a bomb that dishes out several mini-explosions once it lands. Grenadier lets Fuse throw grenades faster, more accurately, and farther.
The Motherlode, his Ultimate, encircles a location in a wall of damaging fire. Forcing movement and preventing rotations finally gives Fuse a role he excels at.
#1 - Bloodhound
Bloodhound is a masterful Legend in any mode, but his recon abilities are unmatched in Arenas. He almost always reveals an enemy via Eye of the Allfather thanks to smaller maps and quicker circles.
His Passive ability is called Tracker. It shows footprints and where someone climbed a wall along with how many seconds have passed since the movement. Bloodhound mains should have no problem hunting down the final opponent in a round.
Then you have his Ultimate, Beast of the Hunt. It makes him faster, outlines opponents in red, and extends when you down an enemy. Buy it for the final round and the game will be yours.
