Showdown Strategy to Stay on the Field
Showdown starts with ten draft picks. Don’t go all out with pitchers. Even Silver or Bronze ones will do. The lineup deserves more attention. Obstacles like scoring X runs in under ten outs are common. Pay attention to whether the final boss in your division is right or left-handed, so you can pick the opposite batters for an advantage.
Never pick a player you don't want. Instead, pick a pitcher because the game will autofill another player to fill the position at the end of the draft. If you're lucky he will be better than the player you didn't take.
Swap perks to cover weaknesses, buff strengths, and simplify specific objectives. Remember, you’re not locked into draft picks and have ample opportunity to improve your roster after Moments if something seems insurmountable.
Perks are great for boss battles. These scenarios always start with your team batting from behind. Perks for hitting when you're down are the key to success. Some of the best include:
- Heart Attack: Contact boost while losing.
- Defibrillator: Contact boost while behind in the count.
- Inside Info: Contact boost on inside pitches. All of the contact position perks are highly desirable.
- Off The Radar: Contact boost on pitches slightly outside the strike zone.
Play Moments out of order based on your draft picks and personal strengths. Don’t select a challenge you’ll struggle with until you’ve assembled powerful players and perks. That means skipping bosses until the end and passing on something like pitching if you aren’t confident. Stick to your strengths and Showdown will slowly fall into place.
Play smart and excel. You will likely need to go back to the dugout and restart if you don’t play well. Only losing to red spaces like bosses ends your inning and retires the side until your next Showdown session.
