Downtown
The destroyed rooftop section above the rest of the map gives players the best opportunity to increase kills and decrease deaths. More specifically, the southernmost spot with three ways to climb in from below.
It’s viable for any class since you’ll shoot short and long-range. Peek down from one of the many great vantage points overlooking most of the map to pick off unsuspecting foes. Players don’t often look up, because firefights can happen in any direction down there. There are safe lines of sight, assuming players aren’t looking up when you’re peeking, but always check your back.
Situational awareness is crucial to succeeding in this position. Pay attention to all of the entrances and listen for footsteps. Aim through the crates to pick off foes across the rooftop. Constantly look down from the three entrances for possible targets. The longer you stand in one of the openings, the higher the chance you’ll get shot.
Don’t take the shot if the enemy is almost out of sight. You probably won’t get the kill and they’ll escape. Enemies tend to appear when you least expect it due to Warface’s spawn system. Move often and remember enemies can hop over the wall next to you.
Your opponents will pay more attention to you as the game goes on, but even then you have the high ground and the advantage!
Other Downtown Tips
The big building with the giant staircase leading to the rooftop in the northeast corner of the map is another viable section. Alternate between aiming out the windows from the top of the stairs, looking down the stairs, and the building’s entrances on both floors. This position is less safe than the rooftops and less busy, although still a fantastic alternative if you struggle on the rooftops or need a new spot.
The line of rooms on the east perimeter of the map is tactical too. Move from room to room looking out all of the windows so enemies can’t surprise you. Pay attention to noise to know where to look and always be ready to fire when turning corners.
Avoid entering the plaza square. It lacks cover and is visible from many places in every direction, making anyone that enters an easy target.
Forest
Stick to the northwest and southeast sections of the map to score more kills.
The northwest building is a surprisingly safe stronghold. It’s hard to enter because you have to climb the stairs then walk around the exterior, but once inside you have a fantastic line of sight to the east.
Players frequently pass by outside, so fire when ready. Stand in the southeast corner of the room to see if anyone enters the building, without sacrificing your line of sight. Go prone and pre-fire when someone turns the corner to enter. Be careful since players can easily shot you through the window. However, step back if you’re under fire to avoid death. There’s a good chance another player will pick off your pursuer.
Prefer the great outdoors? Patrol west of the building. Stay behind cover since enemies are seemingly everywhere. Slide around corners for quick kills. Never stay in the same place long. The building’s basement and the northwest corner of the map are typically safe to heal and reload.
The southern third of the map tends to be quieter and easier to navigate thanks to fewer firefights. Stay on the outskirts and move along the perimeter to third party (kill players shooting each other) and sneak up on enemies that might spawn at any moment.
What Not to Do in the Forest
Avoid the river below the bridge in the middle of the map. It’s difficult to anticipate enemies entering from above. By the time you notice, they’ll likely kill you due to the height advantage. You’ll also have trouble keeping an eye on every direction.
Motel
Scan the central motel from the outer rim to safely score kills. Avoid approaching the motel in the middle of the map. Long lines of sight and multiple vantage points in different directions can easily eye anyone in the area, especially on the second floor.
The second floor is high risk, high reward. If you’re a great sniper with a fast trigger finger, then you might make it out alive. Otherwise, it might not be worth the risk when the perimeter is safer to navigate and snag high scores.
One of the only vacancies is a room in the southeast corner of the map. Secure it and scope foes through the window. However, this area is usually emptier than the rest of the map, making it another gamble.
Overpass
Warface expert eXcuse shared some of the top spots in Overpass. This map seems to hardly show up in the rotation, although that’s no excuse to not be ready for it.
Train
The wreckage in the northwest corner of the map is great to rack up kills. Slide around cover to surprise foes. The spawn system ensures this area always has a few people around. Note the elevated section in the northeast corner of the map. This cliff provides an excellent line of sight over the entire area, but players always check it, so be careful if you climb up.
The small fenced-off section with two buildings along the southwestern perimeter is the safest path from the northern section to the southern side of the map. There’s a lot of cover and tight corners with few lines of sight. Sneak or slaughter through this segment to cross the bridge to the train in the southeast corner of the map.
The back of the train is one of the best spots on the map thanks to its versatility. Don’t actually go into the train car. Instead, stand near the railroad coupling at the boundary of the level. Jump over it to check a long line of sight along the east side of the train, then climb back to check the river on the west side. Aim under the train for some sneaky kills.
Move to the crates next to the train car to switch things up and catch enemies off guard. Remember to also check the train car for stowaways. The minimap, as always, is your friend. He’s here for you. Use him and pay attention to enemy firefights to know where to go.
Risky River
The river running through the middle of the map is the most dangerous position. Players can appear from either direction and kill you before you have time to react. However, you can risk running through the river if you want to get to a specific spot faster or flank foes.
Widestreet
Widestreet has no vertically. The few rooms players can enter don’t provide much of a tactical advantage compared to some of the other maps.
Players should lean toward run and gun strategies away from any open areas. That means sticking to the southern and northwest corners along the perimeter of the map. Enemies tend to lurk in every crevice on Widestreet. Constantly turn around and retrace your steps, even in short bursts.
Most of the eastern side of the map lacks cover. It’s better to avoid the crossfire and pick off players as they exit to the north or south.
Don’t cross the street in the middle of the map. You’ll likely die before making it thanks to players coming from all sides.
